Fortnite Sprite variants explained
Sprites come in several styles, and the style is not just a recolour — most carry a bonus that stacks on top of the Sprite's own ability. Here is what each one does, and how many Sprites currently have it.
How do you get a variant?
You do not unlock a variant separately. Each one is found in the world exactly like the Base version — spot it in a chest, pick it up, and extract with it to add that specific variant to your collection permanently. A Gold Water Sprite and a Base Water Sprite are two separate finds, and owning one does nothing for the other. That is why a full collection is counted in variants rather than Sprites.
Base
41/41 Sprites have it Cosmetic only — keeps the Base ability
The standard version of the Sprite, and the one almost everyone finds first. Every Sprite in the game has a Base style, so this is the variant that decides whether a Sprite counts as "collected" at all.
Sprites with this style: Water, Earth, Fire, Fishy, Duck, Ghost, King, Demon, Aura, Striker, Dream, Punk, Boss, Zero Point, Grim, Air, Seven, Batman, Lootin' Llama, Peeky Peely, Burnt Peanut, Pollo, Vini Jr., John Wick, Ironmouse, Crown, Klombo, Jackrabbit, Killswitch, Tails, Sonic, Shadow, 8-Bit, Bush, Adventure, Jonesy, Storm Scout, X-Ray, Onigiri, Overshield, Mega Man
Gold
35/41 Sprites have it 3× elimination Sprite XP
A gold-plated recolour that keeps the Sprite's Base ability and stacks an XP bonus on top. Gold is the most common of the rare styles, which makes it the usual first upgrade in a collection.
Sprites with this style: Water, Earth, Fire, Fishy, Duck, Ghost, King, Demon, Aura, Striker, Dream, Punk, Boss, Zero Point, Grim, Air, Seven, Batman, Lootin' Llama, Peeky Peely, Crown, Klombo, Jackrabbit, Killswitch, Tails, Sonic, Shadow, 8-Bit, Bush, Adventure, Jonesy, Storm Scout, X-Ray, Onigiri, Overshield
Gummy
20/41 Sprites have it Bonus Sprite Dust on extraction
A translucent, candy-coloured finish. The Gummy bonus is economic rather than combat-facing: it pays out in Sprite Dust every time you extract, so it compounds across a session instead of spiking in one fight.
Sprites with this style: Water, Earth, Fire, Fishy, Duck, Ghost, King, Demon, Aura, Striker, Dream, Punk, Boss, Zero Point, Grim, Air, Seven, Batman, Lootin' Llama, Peeky Peely
Galaxy
20/41 Sprites have it +30% ammo from containers
A starfield finish and one of the hardest pulls in the game. The ammo bonus is the reason Galaxy is chased by players who never touch a checklist — it changes how long you can hold a fight.
Sprites with this style: Water, Earth, Fire, Fishy, Duck, Ghost, King, Demon, Aura, Striker, Dream, Punk, Boss, Zero Point, Grim, Air, Seven, Batman, Lootin' Llama, Peeky Peely
Holofoil
11/41 Sprites have it Boosts squad's rare-variant luck
An iridescent trading-card finish added partway through the season, so it exists for far fewer Sprites than Gold or Gummy. Its bonus is squad-wide and self-referential: it improves the odds that your whole squad finds other rare variants.
Sprites with this style: Water, Fire, Ghost, King, Striker, Zero Point, Grim, Air, Seven, Batman, Peeky Peely
Gem
8/41 Sprites have it Cosmetic only — keeps the Base ability
A faceted, crystalline finish, and the thinnest style in the catalogue — check the variant list on a Sprite's own page to see whether it has one yet.
Sprites with this style: Water, Earth, Duck, Demon, Aura, Zero Point, Grim, Lootin' Llama
Cube
9/41 Sprites have it Cosmetic only — keeps the Base ability
A corrupted, purple-glowing restyle. Cube is cosmetic — it carries no listed bonus of its own and keeps the Sprite's Base ability — and it exists for only a handful of Sprites, which is exactly why completionists hunt it.
Sprites with this style: Earth, Fire, Fishy, Dream, Punk, Boss, Zero Point, Grim, Batman
Quack
4/41 Sprites have it Shares 50% of its XP with your other Sprites
A duck-themed crystal restyle, and the only style you cannot find in a chest: each one is a Sprite Mastery reward, so it is earned by collecting rather than by luck. Its bonus feeds the same loop — half of everything it earns is passed to the rest of your Sprites.
Sprites with this style: Water, Earth, Fire, Zero Point
Cheat Master
15/41 Sprites have it Cosmetic only — keeps the Base ability
A glitched, acid-green restyle that arrived with Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Cheat Master was the first new Sprite style since Quack, and it exists only for Season 4 Sprites — no Chapter 7 Season 3 species has one, which keeps a full Cheat Master set among the shortest complete style runs in the game.
Sprites with this style: Crown, Klombo, Jackrabbit, Killswitch, Tails, Sonic, Shadow, 8-Bit, Bush, Adventure, Jonesy, Storm Scout, X-Ray, Onigiri, Overshield
